About Thurman Jones and my Photography:
I have had a love of photography since childhood; I received my first “real” camera in 1985. I took pictures of every flower and animal I could find and when I had the money I would get them developed. I am a big fan of dogs and animals in general; my wife Tracy and I have three dogs two of which are rescues and we participate in several rescue events per year. I still take pictures of animals especially dogs every chance I get.
Tracy and I are originally from the Indianapolis area and moved to Southern Indiana in 2008. We really enjoy all of the parks, hiking and wineries that Southern Indiana has to offer.
My favorite teams are the Colts, Steelers and the Hoosiers. I love all types of music but my favorite are the Counting Crows, Tracy and I have been known to travel near and far to see them.
I have a somewhat eclectic photography style. I think the best pictures are when a person is relaxed and acting natural and the eyes always tell a story. On the other hand I also like a “grungy” look that depicts some attitude and is a little dark and mysterious. I am also a huge fan of the classic black and white photos, there is just something about them that moves me.
I really enjoy seeing the excitement of my clients when they get their pictures; especially those who say I didn’t know I could look like that.
